John Barrowman Gets Married
Our beloved hero Captain Jack is now married. It didn’t even take a time machine to do it.
Following the Supreme Court ruling on DOMA and Proposition 8 on June 26, 2013, gay marriage was allowed in California again and gay marriages are more protected than ever. This will hopefully lead to more openness across the country and maybe even lead to national recognition of gay marriage.
One couple who decided to take advantage of the overruling of Prop 8 is John Barrowman and his partner of 20 years, Scott Gill. California resumed issuing gay marriage certificates on June 28, 2013, 2 days after the Supreme Court ruling. John and Scott were there to take advantage of this and moved beyond their civil union to an actual marriage. It’s good to see an openly gay and popular actor publicly get married. I wish them both all the happiness they deserve.
